Issues with using JDM Gti-R ECU with g20 tranny
I recently purchased a gti-R front clip and a 99g20 transmission. I want to use the stock ECU/electrical system that will come with the Gti-R but I understand that there are issues with using the FWD tranny.
I'm supposed to recieve the parts in about a month so I want to figure out what I'm going to do before then. One problem that I'm aware of is that the stock Gti-R has a crank trigger wheel on the stock flywheel. Is this correct? Has anyone had experience retrofitting the crank angle sensor with the swap? What other issues am I going to encounter? I heard that the stock g20 flywheel will not fit properly either, what has to be modified? What aftermarket flywheels are available for this swap? I appreciate any help I get. |
