Building a Drag Track

A lot of people around where I live (Sussex County DE, USA) like to street race. I was thinking about opening a drag track in my area so that regular people would pay to drag their friends in their street car. Have local tournys' 80's day or what not. I'm currently tied finacially by starting a semi-pro football team and I currently own another business. I was wondering if I could get enough investors out there to start this project, mayby start a mutual fund to start saving for it. Everyone would gain a profit over time. All we need is land (which is cheap in Delaware) a contractor to build a track and office building. Mayby even have a auto shop at the track. Trust me I looked into it. Selling racing at $50 a pop, around here we'd make enough. All we'd need is about 15-30 grand. (that is taking out a loan on the land.) Write me at [email protected] or drop a line here if interested

oh boy, build a track and run for 4 years only to have the new people in the area complain about the noise. put your money into indoor go kart track instead! drag racing is boring anyway

Well i'm here in South Central PA ( Harrisburg ) and i was thinking basically about doing the same thing. Well i'm looking at spending alot more than 30 grand.i have a place picked out already and i think it would be perfect..it already has a 1800 foot runway (needs paving) and a heated hanger, with paint shop and 5 or 6 different garages....as well as a 5 bedroom house on the propety too. The asking price is $650,000 so yeah i feel your pain about not having the money to start this even though i have just about eveything else in place. I think there is a need for this in my area, what with the cops and current accidents. The place is located in a pretty low populated area...this place is a privatly owned airport. so i don't think the noise would really be a problem. well i just wanted to give you a vote of confidence in your venture...and if you ever wanted to invest later on maybe we can chat some time....anyways take care and good luck.
