BAN HID's!!!

Ok, i have been hearing about this quite a bit recently. In what states are there proposed bills to make HID's illegal??? I would really like to know. btw, what is going to happen to vehicles that already have HID's, will they need to be retrofitted with normal headlights?

i doubt they would be able to pass that, theres too many cars with the HID's that come stock like that. already a lot on the street too

that'll never pass. here in NY they're trying to outlaw chrome rims. it's bogus. I didn't pay 10 large for my whip so some chump with a bage can tell me what to do with it

well the thing is that i saw a news report the other day on how hid's can cause instant temporary blindness during the night, and therefore are dangerous...would suck if they did become illegal, i'd be pissed, i think they improve safety

yea, i heard bout the chrome hims thing. most cops are cool bout stuff, bu there is always the few lone assholes in the world. one pulled me over when i lived in wv for havin thoes led windshield washer lights and started yellin at me and shit on the side of the road. but i got out of the ticket at least

I don't understand why they want to ban chrome rims, that sounds pretty dumb to me.

As for the Windshield washer lights, you deserved to be pulled over for those. Not only are they ricey as hell, it is illegal to have a blue light ANYWHERE on the outside of your vehicle. Its also illegal to have a red light on the front of your car, or a white light on the back of your car (while driving forward). The reasons for all this should be pretty obvious. If not:

Blue and red lights are reserved for police, firemen, and other emergency vehicles

Red lights should only ever be on the REAR of a car.

White lights should only ever be on the FRONT of a car.

I guess its cool you didn't get a ticket, but I hope you learned and took them off, cuz they look pretty gay too.

its not the same everywhere tho, hell here in GA ppl have lights all over their cars and they dont do anything about it. couple of my friends had the windshield washer lights on their car too and never got stopped, and still have them on there!! and heres ur rice :finger4:

ya i have to agree the LED washerlights are hella :apuke
but to each there own i guess, just dont get mad when u get a ticket. but back on subject. the HID's i love mine just hate the dum a$$es who have them pointing in all diffrent directions. if you put them on aftermarket atleast do it right fwkheads :finger4: only other thing that bothers me is the dum fwk's that put it on there big ass SUV's blinding everyone infront of them. im lucky i have my dimming rearview but my side mirrors arent dimming and the mofo's blind you from the side. GEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

well ya HID's should be regulated not banned!!! not every car shoud have it its just plain hazardes to have them beaming right into your eyes. it should be pointed tuward the road not the inside of the cars infront of you, thats what your high beams are for :frog:

is it legal to have white washer lights on your hood, or are all of them illegal. i had them awhile back and never got pulled over but i kindof grew out of them. just curious if the color of them matters or not?

cop who busted me said every color but green was illegal, but ppl here have told me that everything is legal sept red, and it cant flash. it differs from place to place.

ya i would guess what ever attracts the cops. Red, Blue, flashing, its like the bug zaper but for cops and they dont get zap when they get to the light.:flash: :flash:

ever been driving and some asshole behind u in a big truck or suv has thoes things blinding ya? or hell even cars passin by u int he other direction? the lights blind ya temp. and ppl are prob wrecking (even tho they are prob old, or jus cant drive in the first place) or could be like one of my friends back in wv, he was like a damn deer when a car was comin at him, he would look right at the damn lights :bonghitte

Well I know for a fact my HIDs blind people cuz I have my friends tell me when they see me comming down the road, they are like god damn it turn your lights off at night.

But that is the main reason I bought them, I got tired of these fkn hot shot BMW guys thinking they were better then everyone cuz their lights blinded, so I now look like a dumb BMW driver with these bright ass lights but I feel good when I hit a SUV or BMW, Mercedes or Lexus in the eyes, its especially more fun when I get behind them after htey cut me off and I blind them from their mirrors.

Even though I paid a couple hundred dollars for them, I do hope they ban them and everyone needs to be retro-fitted for Halogen bulbs cuz they do work, maybe not as blindingly good as HIDS, but they work.

Just my worhtless two cents.
