Looking for this wheel (stock '03 NSX); what are my options?

1000 words:

Stock sizes are: F: 215/40R17 R: 255/40R17

XS Tuning has 2 types of 7-spokes that are 17". I see two issues:
a. I have no idea how wide they are... ( they might want to put that on the site...)
b. How could I rout out the spokes to make them concave like the real ones?

Also, any other wheels come to mind?

Hi Jay! The only thing I can help you with is how to make the wheel spokes, use a rounded needle file Let me know if you need one. I'll look around for some matching wheels but I'm not sure about these!:grey:

I think maybe modifying the Revell ITR 7 spoker's with a needle file would do it. They are 5 lug, the lug area will need some shaping too.
The spokes even bow outward like the '03 wheel, which will also assist in filing them.

Thats sounds like a good idea also.. They both do have the outward look of the rim so it would be easy to file the dips for the spokes.. The itr rims would be easy to find also..

You might want to look at the rims on the 1/24 Maisto Acura RSX. They are the "old" ITR rims, same diameter as Revell's but the tires are taller/wider. They look pretty sweet. They've got 5 lugs and the Acura logo. The spokes don't have the indentations.

That a point, could be likely Maisto will issue one anyway!

The '03 NSX would make a great transkit wouldn't it? If only i had all the time in the world! I have a suspicion that Tamiya may have a go at this one too.

BTW Jay, what are the major changes with the new NSX? I know the more obvious one's such as front and lights, but not familiar with what else has changed, interior etc

Would these spokes be too wide, it seems they are thicker that the Revell ones?

They may be thicker in depth, but not width. In fact the spokes look slightly narrower. They aren't as finely molded, so an XActo blade will be needed to clean up around the spokes. One idea would be Revell rims in front, Maisto in back for the big 'n little effect.

According to Jay, the new car has 17" front and rear unlike earlier versions. Width can always be settled with the tire itself.

The Maisto rims are wider, they are 17's (they're the same height as Revells), though their tires are taller.
