Hi people!!! i have a 1996 Series 2 R33 Skyline and i recently purchased a manual boost controller for it.... Me and my mechanic installed the boost controller no problems, but when we took the car out for a spin, the boost would come on standard after 3rpm, then when it hit 5rpm IT WENT STRAIGHT TO 15psi like a bullet!! it wasnt normal wat so ever! it came on too hard and too late! has anyone else had these problems.. is there anything i should know about boosting a R33???
HELP!!

You might have the vacuum lines backwards.

The factory boost control solenoid in the GTS25t increases boost by 2psi at 5000 rpm. When you hooked up your bleed valve, did you put it in place of the solenoid, or is that still plugged in and faffing around with the boost you set? If it's still connected, then from 5000 rpm you will probably get 2psi more than whatever you've set with your boost control.

Im not sure! my mechanic did it and i watched... basically it is working okay now... wat i did was on the right of the engine bay where the airfilter is... there is another connection above it that i think regulates the boost.. i disconnected that and now the boost runs freely to 10psi
im loving the extra power!!! wat boost r u running in your gtst??? wat boost is it safe to run at if i have the following mods; Apexi Frount Mount Apexi Exhaust Apexi BOV Apexi suspension Quick shift gear box 17" Veil side racing rims

I'm not sure exactly, as atm I only have the factory boost gauge - I have a Trust one. but haven't got it in yet. I have no boost controller, but boost has risen a bit with my pod, my exhaust (cat back), and now with removing the cat. Max boost now seems to be around 10 or maybe 11 psi (specially on a cool evening
). My main reason for a boost controller will be to get rid of the "step" that happens at 5000 rpm.The main thing you need before significantly upping the boost is a less restricitive intercooler, and the Apexi ought to fit the bill there. I would say still no more than 10-12 psi to be really safe. I ran into a boost cut at 13-14 psi (don't ask ) which was fairly unpleasant. Basically with standard turbo and ECU I wouldn't run any more than 12 psi myself, and most of the time I'd probably stick around 10.

Yea thats what i think... i am running at 10psi which im happy with!! its such a good difference!! when i put it in the first time i was running at 15psi and that was just way too much for me atm!! lol
But yea the boost now with my new controller is much smoother and is coming on earlier at a higher boost!
