Key gets stuck in that ignition.

Alright, some days it works, and some days it doesnt. Whenever i stop and go to take my key it, it just wont come out i can turn the car off and the lights but it wont go any farther than that so i have to turn it to the right and back again, over and over and sometimes ill get lucky. But this morning at school, i could not get it out i was sitting in my car for 15 minutes trying to get it out but it just wouldnt give. I tryed putting in that graphite powder they sell for locks and other goodies like that but doesnt make a difference. Would it be becuase of the cold weather or is it something that im doing wrong. Thanks

Also i'd suggest that you get a new copy of your key and see what happens.

you tried moving the steering wheel around a lil bit right... just take is side to side while pulling it out... def. check to see if its bent and ifit is replace it...

Lightbulb

I had the exact same problem in my '90 HB, the key would not come out for anyone. Until one day I was screwing around and turned the wheel as far as it would go and lock to the right and it just release. I have no idea why but when it happened again a couple months later I tried the same technique and it worked again. I have not had the problem since so maybe give it a try.

Well when i first got the car i got an extra key made and i used that one to start my car, but switched back to the old one. And yea it seems like it only happens when its really cold out, but im too lazy to wake up early enough to do my morning routene and still start my car. yea it is an automatic, becuase it was my first car for my drivers license test, long story. oh and jeef yea im from lebanon, between hershey and myerstown so yea i signed up for the april meet, hoping i get some good stuff done to my car by then. later
