The Cool
For anyone who doesn't already know about Lupe Fiasco, I suggest picking up his second CD "The Cool". Its most definitely one of the best albums I've ever heard. His first commercial CD "Food and Liquor" was great, but this one takes it to another level. He touches on terrorism, AIDS, immigration, rape, juvenile soldiers, and above all else provides a commentary on the world around him and what's gone wrong in the world of hip hop and the black community as a whole. I know theres way too much bullshit rap out there, but Lupe is the real deal. I absolutely guarantee there is at least one track on the CD that will really catch you. His storytelling wrapped around the tales of characters "The Cool", "The Game", and "The Streets" is some of the best ever recorded. The CD is really more like a movie without picture. The concept of the three characters is only made blatant in a few tracks, while the rest relate in one way or another and serve as backdrops for the development of Lupe, the characters, and Michael (My Cool) Young History
Get this CD... seriously

haven`t heard any of his stuff (mainly because i've given up on most popular rap nowadays) but i'll definitely give it a listen. it sounds like something better than "yay i've got money and girls and i'll bust a cap in any motherfucker who doesn't like me... don't touch my car, you might get it dirty"
edit: sorry for the french accents in there, i'm in montreal and this keyboard keeps switching back to french
