Shocks and Springs for 2001 Accords

Hi peoples, I have a 2001 Accord EX V6... and i'm wondering what kind of shocks and springs should i get? I heard the Muegen shocks are pretty high performance... Any people with suggestions please reply... Thanks..

HI all, today i went to a shop and i got alot of info about suspensions... Do you think i should get coilover kits or shock and springs? Which is more reliable? Which brand makes a comfortable ride? btw i'm not a racer but i like to drive fast and cruise with a smooth ride... also can someone tell me what kind of price would i get a decent to good suspensions? The most i would pay is $1200... Well, thats it for now... hope to get a reply soon... Thanks...

You can get a few coilover kits that are great for 1200, but if you are not a racer then smoe Bilstein sport/ Neupeed springs would do good so would Koni/Eibah/Neuspeed springs. Great ride without the height adjustability

Sway bars control body roll. The stiffer they are, the less body roll you will have. They are always good to replace along with any suspension mod. I believe Suspension Technique makes some good ones for Accords.

hi... anyone think if its okay to leave my stock suspension alone for a bit and just put in sway bars??? Does that help my stability? I just don't want that leaning feeling when i make sharp turns... please reply... thanks...

Sway bars will help the Accord out nicely on a stock suspension.

22-26mm front and 19-21mm rear

so you mean 22-26mm front and 19-21mm rear, any size between will do??? Which size is the best for my car??? Should the front be bigger than the back or vice versa? please reply... Thanks

If you just want to drive fast in general back-road use stock springs and a set of Bilsteins might be a good choice. If lowering the car then something like the Neuspeed Sofsport, .5 in drop might be good enough. Too much drop and you start getting into warranty issues with stress on wheel bearings etc. Also you'll lessen your suspension travel and lose your ride quality. Not sure what the stock size frt bar is for the Accords, but probably it would be good enough as is. For rear not any bigger than the 21mm mentioned above would work best. Neuspeed rear bars are adjutable, believe 3 settings so you can change it to suit. You don't want to go to big or you will endose oversteer. Neutral to slight understeer would probably be best.

The whole thing with sway bars is

"Ever wonder why cars that are stock come with sway bars?
Well honestly it is cheaper for companies to do it.
They reduce body roll, with the bars, this enables them to have lower spring rates (softer) and softer shocks, and no one is any the wiser.

So If you have upgraded Shocks and springs it reduces your need for anti-sway bars, in fact if you add them (or put thicker ones in)you can actual reduce your grip, because it is pulling the load/transfering it to reduce roll which is exactly the opposite of what you want, with new shocks and springs.
I made this mistake with my Bilstein/Neuspeed Coilovers. I put a 30mm front sway bar on which is double the thickness of the stock one and all it did was unstick my front tires in hard manuevers. keep it in mind."

SO yes Sway bars in those ranges on a stock suspension will do well,
do'nt go over 26mm in the front you cause too much understeer.

Koni Sport and Eiabach Pro. Didn't think about the stress on other parts before I lowered mine. But I'll never go back to stock for a little stiffer hide say goodbye to that lean and tire scream on sharp turns and ride the turn LOL.
