97 VW Factory Radio Question
hey ive never had a problem with doing any car stereo, but this vw's factory radio will not come out. the right side is locked in. the left will come out, but im wonderin what can i do to remove it. also what are some good website for vw aftermarket stuff? thanks....steve

I know people have had problems removing them just using the din-tools.
If you first "unlock" it, you could try to remove the astray and get your hand behind it. |

The DIN tool is a flat, about 1/4" wide slat of metal like a knife. You have to use two at a time and pull out simultaneously. They work perfectly. When I lost them, I used a tool in my junkbox that was flat, I had two of them and the radios come out effortlessly. I am not sure what the problem is?
Also, anyone know how the wiring works on the radio harness and the CD player harness? I want to interrupt one to put in audio coming out of a DVD pplayer? |
