Question solid axles?????

Anybody have or even seen a conversion kit for solid front axles for the xterra? It really seems to be the only thing between having a mean off-roader and a dead-evil, spank your furry bottom, rockcrawler.
thanks for any beta.

SLR is supposedly working on one.

There have been some other shops in Oregon talking about it, but just talk so far.

I've also heard that Calmini has a SAS kit planned for some point in the future. I would suggest calling either company and asking. They need to know the interest is there to make it worth developing a kit. You might also consider trying someone that makes Toyota SAS kits. One of them may be interested in adapting their Toyota kit to the Xterra/Frontier

Re: solid axles?????

Right, a handful of Frontiers are swapped already, one is underway that I know of, and there are 2 Xterras completed and one more underway. No kits in development, but if anyone will do it, it'll be Calmini.

Solid Axle Information for Xterra

There is a shop in Hawaii that put a solid axle onto an Xterra, this guy now has almost 12 inches of lift and running 35x15.50 superswampers.

Re: solid axles?????

Calmini is developing an almost completely bolt-on kit for the Xterra, first one is complete and undergoing evaluation now.

solid axle infro

just got off the fon with the calmini people this morning the solid axle kit is on its way!!! 8 to 10 day they will be releasing the info on there web site. a few weeks they will being to sell. The skinny from the horses mouth is that its going to be 1795 for the kit this DOES NOT include the shocks, they are sold sepretly threw fox and will run about 750 (there are different options) and they will set you up with fox although they will not sell them threw calmini (for now). The axle does not come with the kit. Install will obviosly require cutting off the front ifs, but the only welding will be adding the spring perches to the axle and are suppost to be very easy to aline (no moving knuckles etc...) they do not have a sway bar developed to work with the kit yet but it is coming soon. uhhhh what else...a slip yoke elim kit is recomended. and a double cardan joint is required on the front shaft. 33 are the specified tire size but 35 will sqeez with "adjustment" thats all I know but i just thought id share.

Re: solid axles?????

Wow, I haven't seen a solid price on it. Now that I see it, it is alot less than most people were anticipatiing. This seems like a really good deal cause the people who are devoted enough will put the money in to do it.

Now that the price is out and it is less I believe Calmini is going to have a surge in sales and we will start to see more and more X's with single axles up front. Excited to see more!
