Rear Speakers

Car has 6.5" in rear deck now...one is blown, they are in ghetto style, zip-tied! The 6.5" speaker's magnet's are hitting the torsion bars. Is there a way to install 6.5" in the rear deck of a 93 prelude? I like the size and want to stay with it, but don't want them hitting the torsion bars...

Drew

any suggestions? I heard I could get some sort of spacer? That would raise up the speakers off of the deck...

Make a spacer. This is done simply with MDF or any type of sturdy wood. If you kept the packaging there is a template in the box the speakers came in or draw your own.Just trace the outside of the speaker onto the wood take a compass and measure inward roughly half an inch. Cut out then mount the speaker to the ring and mount the whole thing down.OH yeah the wood should be as thick as you need clearence, remember to give a little leeway.

If you are looking for something more shallow and are wonderful speakers, look into the Crystal Mobilesound speakers. I got the shallow mount ones and they sound really really nice, I wouldnt want anything else!
