Rewrapping With Vinyl
I want to rewrap my seats, dash, etc. in vinyl, but I have never done anything like this before. I checked the old forums and didnt really find anything worth while in them. I think I'm gonna get an old seat and door panel from a junk yard and practice, but I have a few questions: I've heard you need a heat gun. What exactly is a heat gun? The name makes it sound pretty obvious, but I just wanna be sure. Also, how much would one set me back, and where can I find one? Any other advice would help too, preferably from someone WHO HAS ACTUALLY DONE IT. Thanks guys and gals!

A heatgun is like a hairdryer on steroids. You can find them at homedepot or lowes. You will also need some heat activated adhesive 3m makes great "glue". I get it from Select Products so i'm not really sure where you can pick it up but check the adhesive aisle at home depot. and applying to flat surfaces it's like puttin on a decal start at a corner and work towards the opposite corner. Some ppl use rollers i use my fingers. IF you want cut out cardboard or dynamat and put underneath the vinyl for a raised letter/design on your dash and what not. As for vinyl Omnistretch is the exact maker that honda uses it will match perfectly.I hope this helps.

I wish they would update that damn page... hahaha :flash:
A heat gun can cost you $35-$200 depending on what you are looking for - you should also be able to rent them from any parts/tool rental places. The reason you need it is to get the fabric to stretch and to activate the glue properly. A whole interior shouldnt run over 18-20 yards of material, and you can get it basically anywhere depending on the color and what not cost can vary from everything from $1.99 a yard upto like $19.99 a yard or so.
