Unless you want a really sh!tty paint job, than go for it. What the Maccoo "$300" paint job is, is they actually just paint OVER your existing paint, no primer, and they don't even strip off your existing paint either, just tape up parts and spray over your car.

Had an Idea...
Why dont you just get the old paint, dents out and primer the car yourself. Then have them paint it for that much. Wouldnt that sound like a great idea. I think that is what most people do anyways. I would pay a little extra for them to paint my door jams and engine bay and trunk. I think that is it. Peace.

No, SMART people do that... most people just see Oh $300 paint job, sweet lets do it!
Prep is the key, by the time my car is primered and ready for my dads friend to paint it - I will have some 50 hours into the body prep... and i have no headlight/tailight conversions... trust me, prep work shows up in the finished product! If you want to go ahead and remove the dents, sand and primer the car on your own, MAACO is a god way to get a cheap paint job seeing as you would already have done all the hard work. Dont forget door jams and under hood sprays (important when going from one color to another, so the whole car matches) will run you about 50% more.

Yeah man maaco is a bad deal and alot of people use it. Another thing they do is if you dont mask your car they will paint over anything...mirrors, door handles, and they dont paint under the hood, or the door jams or anything

Um, they will paint udner your hood and door jams if you request it - it costs extra, the price they quote is just for a basic paint job. Nothing "ghetto" about that.
