Question Vent odor

Ok well im in NH, so i went outside to warm my car up... warmed it up for about 10 mins.,.. got it side of it.. and it smelled like woodchips burning or something.. so i turned the heat all the way up and opened the vents and alittel grey smoke came out.. so i looked at the bottom of the windsheild on the outside where the intake is... and there was alittle smoke comin out of there too...

i have a 89 325IX

any ideas??? please please email me at [email protected]
