has anyone else noticed this little black thing that restricts you from applying full throttle by about an inch??? i took it off and i think it gives you more room to put the accelerator down

Yeah, I''ve noticed that thingy but I believe I read somewhere why it was there and I think it had something to do with safety. I can't exactly recall though, I could be wrong, I guess I'll have to do some more research, but I've got to get back to watching HORSEPOWER TV, I love that show.

That is the pedal stopper that prevents you from destroying your throttle cable... If you still had some free play with the butterfly on the throttle body, adjust the cable there! Don't go messing with the stopper... or you'll be replacing your throttle cable soon!

You're gonna have to replace that thing dude.... Because if you don't, and you try to adjust it back to compensate... there will be accessive play in the cable when the pedal is not down.

1) how are you gonna start the reply like that and follow it up with "no disrespect"
2) i took it off for pictures so i could show everyone exactly what i meant and put it back on until i could find out what it actually was. so no, i'm not shitting you and i'm sorry i don't know what every 2" piece of plastic in my car is for. that's why i'm on this forum.

I noticed from your few threads you like to jump to conclusions and make snap judgements based on your diluted conclusions. not a good trait and not very constructive.

thanks for the info though :finger:
Glad to be of help to you bud! LOL!

Anyway.. the purpose of the piece is to prevent the stretching of the throttle cable because once the butterfly is opened all the way, the cable can't go any further... except to stretch and in time... break.
