Which to buy? New 525 or 530

Hi folks.. i'm a new convert to the world of BMW and have been looking at new 525 and 530's.

The only MAJOR difference in the two cars is the engine.. with 40 more horses under the hood of the 530. Am I really losing out on power and machoism if I don't get the 530? I like the 530 naturally, but at $3500 more for a zippier engine, it's quite a hefty amount of cash..

I can buy either one. Which would you guys get and why?

Thanks
Steve G

525 or 530?

I test drove a 2003 525i wagon and found it superb in every respect except lacking in horsepower. In the wagon I was limited to either an underpowered 525 or an overpowered (and 10 grand extra) 540. I am hoping the new designed 5 Series will give me a 330 choice for the wagon - why wagon? I HATE SUVs!! I have heard, however, that the new 5 Series wagons will trail the coupe/sedans in production by a full year.

525 or 530?? Add the bucks and go zoom! Cheers!:alien:

The bigger engine is the way to go. Otherwise you will wish you had gotten it down the road. I bought the 540 6Spd used of course because I paid half as much as the new one would cost and is only 3 years old. I already wish I had checked into some used M5's and spent the extra cash.
