In-dash CD Receiver

I'd like to replace the stereo head unit in my '97 328i. The sound is lousy and the display has dimmed out so it is almost impossible to see.

Does anyone know of a unit that won't clash horribly with the amber dot-matrix display of the heat and computer units?

I don't want anything fancy. Just a decent CD player for around $200.
