car engine problem

the battery is not dead..i put in the keys, turn the ignition, and the engine makes a crack noise. and doesnt start..all it does it makes a 1 second crack noise and doesnt start. what could the problem be? i have no other way to explain it ..it doesnt sound like its gonna start..you know how sometimes it goes. rrroomm and start. wel it makes a little half second noise and stops, no other noises. anybody know what might be the problem ?

is it cold there? my dads car does it and you gotta pump the gas somtimes to get it to start, we dont know what the problem is...he needs a new engine anway so were gonna put one in thats why we havent really gone looking for the problem

if it's not your battery..maybe it's to clod out like HB said..or your starter could be bad..i know on domestics if the starter is'nt working correctly you could whack the starter with a hammer..but i would'nt reccomend this but it's a thought..

Instead of making speculatuions, goto Walmart and get a cheap volt-meter (you should have one already) and touch the two terminals together and see what you get. If it's below 12 volts, then get it recharged or get a new one. If it's fine THEN start looking else-where. Because if the battery is dieing it'll still power accessories but it won't have the amperage needed to the start the the car.

Lightbulb Cap

i have had a simular problem with my 93 Civic, the problem ended up needing a new distributer cap and or and ignition coil...

your real problem is the exaust is clogged. All you have to do is get a water pump and hook it up to the muffler. then you suck all the shit out of there. then you must repair the drum brakes, i know this sounds stupid but i had the exact same problem
