Just bought a new 2002 Quadcab

I just bought a new 2002 quadcab with the 360cid V8 and 4x4. I needed another 4x4 (I also own a 2000 GMC Jimmy 4x4) with a bed to tow my racecars. The Jimmy did good, but at 9mpg it sucked... especially in the hills and while having a 15 gallon tank I was stopping every 10 minutes to fill up!
It is loaded with leather and carpet... weird having a truck with all that!

I am so far very happy with it. Though it could use a bit more power. I am looking at a 3" catback and a slight change in timing along with a free sucking intake.

I have had the truck for over a month and a half now. It is okay, though I have yet to tow with it, next week, I just bought a Toyota Celica All-Trac, so I can see what it does on the power side. I am a bit concerned as the power seems down. I was expecting more from the 360... we wait and see...

Not enough power? Put $500 in it and add 30-40 Horse. It might be worth it if you tow alot.

so, $500?

I was thinking of a single 3" catback free flowing exhaust, mandrel bent stainless steel.

Custom cold air intake... maybe even a ram air style setup.

What else??

That will help let the engine breathe better.

A cheap mod that will be very effective.

I don't know, maybe a K and N filter set.

lol... sorry, all RSe Intakes include K&Ns. That is not $500. I can build that for less than $200. So what else would $300 get me?

Come on man... you made a quote, let me know what else I can do other than the basics that every kiddie with Mom's with a hondah integra knows about.

How about a EDELBROOK INTAKE MANIFOLD or EDELBROOK THROTTLE BODY. If you search the net, you will find lots of performance parts.

Dude, go to KRCperformance.com. They have plenty of go fast mods for Dodge engines. The 5.9L is not supposed to be a great power maker from the factory in this platform (although they do use it in the R/T). Also, check out dodgedakotas.com and sign into the message boards there. I'm into R&D for all kinds of things for the 4.7L V8 Dodge/Chrysler engines, but I also know a ton about the pushrod 318/360 (5.2/5.9) engines as well. I'm under the screen name Demon Dakota there. CYA around!
