Update on me :D

Well as some of you know I started up school again. So far it is going pretty good I was originally going to take a drawing class, to fulfill credits needed to qualify for financial aid. I wanted t take Graphic Design II, since I had taken GD I 10 yrs ago. The program changed over the last 10 years and now they require an Intro to Graphic Design class before you can take any of the other related courses. The counselor at school told me I had to take it before going into GD II even though I had already taken the first one. So I was kinda bummed thinking this was going to be a boring and dragged out semester since all classes were fulfilling pre-reqs.

So 4 days before classes were to begin I got a message on my voicemail at home saying the drawing class got cancelled. My first thought was because I need to keep at least 6 credits or my $$ gets yanked. So I went down to the school and got a DIFFERENT counselor. She went ahead and let me into the GD II class I wanted since I already took the first one and am taking the other Intro class anyways.

So far the class is going very well, but the teacher is a tough one. Example...this past Monday night just before letting us go, she assigned a 5 page essay (in 10 pt type) on an artist and his influence on design today.......due TONIGHT. So yours truly has been up til the wee hours on Tueday nites/Wed. mornings with homework for her class. So far I ahve been able to complete them all. I hope I will be able to keep up. What I do like about her way of teaching is that she is treating our class like its a design studio and we are her team. So sometimes she will give us an in-class assignment that is huge and we have to turn over a finished product in an hour or less I never thought I could be so excited about school

Thanks De$i Actually I was one of those people who talked about it but didn't do it......for a long time. After a long talk with one of my best friends and after doing some soul-searching, I finally decided a few months ago it was now or never. I didn't want to do the financial aid thing and that was because of a lot of misunderstanding of how it works. My friend helped me to fill out all the forms etc. Now I am just waiting for the check so I can pay the school and then out the rest into savings for next semester or any other costs associated with classes that may come up (art supplies).
