Make your own Carbon Fiber **Download**

Hi

Here are the Carbon Fiber templates if you wish to make your own decal.

1. Download this: here (if you have problem, right click > Save as..)

2. Use your favourite Image software to make a sheet. Try to work in 200DPI (from 150 to 250DDPI.. depend of what size you want)

3. Print on normal paper to see the result.

4. If it's ok, print on Decal paper then Apply Microfilm. Give 2 hours to dry..

5 Enjoy

Thanks to Jay for hosting this files.

The Zip is 1.33meg and contain Gray, Gold and Yellow CF template

** For best result, you can print them by a professional Color Lazer printer.

** For the Gray Carbon fiber, it's better to work on a White decal sheet. Trasparent sheet not tested yet for CF...

** Dont convert the files in JPEG or Gif.. compression will hurt the quality.

Fell free to give this zip, but remember who suply it first

Update: Look like the Gray version isn't perfect. to solve the problem, take the Gold version and Turn it in Gray scale version with your Photo Software... Sorry for this mistake

Thx a lot man, this will really come in handy. (Hint for all the other downloaders: don't stare at the bitmaps full screen, it'll give you a splitting headche )

I got it in a small train shop here.. it's microscale sheets (www.microscale.com) cost me 3.20$Can each sheet of 8½/11

Microfilm protect the decal and is needed.. cos when you will drop decal in wather, it will disintegrate itself... cost me 3$ for a 1oz (you can make more than 1 sheet with it)

I will print my decal this week.. will see how profesional printing cost, but yet it's not very expensive

There is a lot of brand. Some work with InkJet Printer, other only with Laser Printer

Micro Scale is Laser Printer
Bare Metal have both version

There is other version, but all of them need a micro Film or other stuff.. be sure to get some (it's cheap anyway)

Best online sources for clear decal paper:
http://www.tangopapadecals.com/page2.html The sample pack is great value !
http://www.papilio.com/paspaper.html
or
http://www.micromark.com/

Microfilm, that's MicroScale Liquid Decal Film I presume ? The name says it all, it is a clear varnish that dries to an incredibly thin and flexible film that acts as a protective layer to the printed design.
If you must you could try using something like Future floor wax instead, but the MicroScale stuff is just so much better that it is worth the 2 or 3 $, besides: it lasts a lifetime

This looks like scans from decal sheets to me, so why go through all the troubles of printing it yourself when you can order better quality decals from Scale Motorsports or Museum Collection ??

first off it's not scan... then 1 sheet of 8½/11 would cost 4$ to make (half the price of SMS and it's a bigger page) then the quality is up to you.. if you print in 250dpi, it will be better than any other CF decal...

For me a SMS CF decal cost 12$Can.. one sheet I made cost me 4$.. 3 time cheaper, same quality and it's a bigger sheet

still if you dont want them, dont download them and stop bitching.... Some ppl here like to make there own stuff and save some buck.. Money didn't fall of a Tree (at least not here )

The cf gold looks pretty good, but the rest is way off scale even if you photoshop it to right scale it looks pretty bad. maybe I should scan the scalesports decal that i have. and see how it turns out.
