Bmw M3 Gtr

At the Petit Le Mans last weekend, one of the BMW teams had a silver M3 GTR...the kind with the V8 It was awesome, the louvers and wide fenders gave it a much more aggressive look. I'll try to post the pictures if I can find a scanner.

Too bad I don't have a spare $225k lying around

$225K Thats a spicy meatball. I didnt see the car that you speak of, but I doubt that I would spend that much cash on any car, id rather have 2 $90K rides and then do them all up.

If you could post a pic that would be sweet, cause this car has to be something pretty special to be worth $225k:smoka:

Well, if it's right off the track at Petit Le Mans, $225K is quite reasonable, any race car will have a 50K+ Motor, and then you get race spec (Not Type R "race" crap) parts, tires and ultralight body panels. Derek Bell's Audi S4 is a cool $180K. The Mb CLK GTR, is 2 mil for race or production, there pretty much the same thing.

wrong. it's the same V8 but it only has approx. 350 hp. the CSL is better IMO. i'll find out some more stuff on it in a couple minutes. gotta find it first.

Yeah, I figured the engine would be downgraded, but I didn't know how much...

the GTR only saves around 100 to 200 kg. it has the larger 19 inch wheels but same size brakes as the stock M3. the CSL has 19 inch brakes(!!!!!!!!). it does have a dry sump lubrication, low profile tires, and twin plate clutch though. i'd rather have the CSL for the amount the GTR is.

horsepower is "more than 350 hp"
torque is a crappy 269 lb ft- the same as the stock M3

How can it possibly have 19 inch brakes if the wheel is only 19 inches? The disc wouldn't fit by itself, and then there would be no room for a caliper. The inside diameter of a 19 inch wheel is probably 18.5 inches max, so a 19 inch diameter rotor couldn't fit in there, even without caliper....
