SR20DET ECU wiring diagram needed

Following on from the Engine Swap thread, can anyone supply me with a wiring diagram of the SR20DET ECU that show all the components of the engine such as the sensors, injectors, distributors etc. This is so i can make a comparison with the wiring diagram of my SR20DE as found in the Haynes Manual. Basically, i have a Unichip which could be reprogramed to handle the SR20DET but need to know if the DET has any extra wirin/sensor, because i dont wanna change over the loom. Im trying to find out as much as possible before i do the swap, with minimal fuss.

YIKES! Good luck. Maybe one of the Kiwis can help you there. I don't know of anyone in The States with that. Maybe JWT and/or JUN, but they would probably not share that info (understandably so - especially since you will be using a piggyback box).

I hope you can find it though. If you do, can you scan it and post it? I know a lot of people would like that info.

the link seems to be working just fine, what problems you having?

Ive spoke to an engineer and he told me, if i were to do a DET swap, best use the DET ECU and wiring harness. In most cases, once youve replugged everything, you'll probably be only left with applying 12 volts to the ECU and away you go! So if im gonna do it, i'll buy a GTi-R and transplant everything that i need over.

Well, thats determination for you. Im serious about doing this swap, especially now that i only have 149 BHP with all them mods My mechanic said it would be better to swap harnesses and ECU aswell, especially if im gonna buy a whole car to donate parts.
On a different note, my insurance will cover me for the swap, but they want double the premiun, thats around £2K !!!! This i just one company, im sure i can get cheaper, by the time ive done it. No immediate plans, just researching it all, but hopefully, this time next year, i'll have my P11DET

Luke, I didn't look at any of the diagrams, but I'm assuming they don't have the BB diagrams listed. If that is the case, the diagrams for the GTi-R would not help you. They are very different.

In fact, I'm still not clear why you couldn't use your OBD-I harness and ECU.

It would only be that simple if you get the MAF from the GTi-R as well. You would need the complete front end of the car to get all of the sensors, as well as the harness and ECU.

FWIW, I don't believe your dyno numbers. It's so easy to get bad data.

We still don't know what conversion they are using to get from wheel hp to flywheel hp. We don't know if they are correcting for atmosheric conditions either.

Something is wrong and it's not the CAI or the cams. They are well documented to make about 15-20 hp at the wheels.

I dunno anymore, i think im past caring now. All in all, ive got them installed and im happy with the drivability of the car, and i know its better than before, so im just gonna concentrate on the styling next, then the DET swap. Ive done all i can with this engine, pointless wasting anymore money on it. My monnies on the DET!! that'll be quicker!!
Hopefully over the next few weeks, i should get the styling done and i'll be a lot happier.

Damn are they going to double the book value of your car too? Insurance companies are a bunch of crooks. Oh good luck with the swap. Don't forget to document the process and send it to [email protected].
