No, they have totally different engines, but the same body. The G20 has the Nissan Sentra/Sunny engines, which is why it sucks, but otherwise it's a kick ass, fun car.

totally different engines?? not...they both have the sr20de....tis the bodies and slight other cosmetic difference that make the Primera and G20 different.....as KBS pointed earlier Primera = G20

P10 Question

What kind of an engine does the Premiera have? Isn't it the 240bhp i-4 or something else?

posting a P10

I know the 240bhp is an option available for the Infiniti, so the Premiera should have that as an option too. I check with Nissan Japan that they said they only ship these engines to a few countries in the West. I also know the 240bhp is available because I put one in my 93.5 Infiniti G20.

Are we talking about the same 3.5VQ engine that's in the 2002 Altima?

P10

no, this engine was optional for the Nissan Primiera. the option was available in Japan and Australia, and a few were available for US and European import. i think the 3.5 se 240hp altima engine is mainlt for the Us market.

So then what you are saying, is that you put in a SR20DET motor right? But it is a far cry from 240hp.

P10 Question

What i'm saying is, I took the stock SR20det engine out, and replaced it with the 1998/99 SR24DET optional Turbo engine available for the Premiera. The 2.4 Liter Engine does have a Turbo option, and I have the Single Turbo option engine producing 240bhp at the Front Wheels. That's what I'm talking about. I wish there was a AWD or 4WD with Supa-Hicas System option too, which would allow me to corner at faster rate. That would make my car race ready.

Primeras and G20's never came with an SR20DET as an option or stock.

The most powerful engine a G20 ever came with was the 2000+ 145HP SR20DE. Before that G20's came with a 140HP SR20DE.

As for Primera's the strongest SR20DE was the Primera GT's which had 150HP SR20DE's but the most powerful engine available in a Primera was the SR20VE w/ M6 tranny that produced 190 or 195HP.

Furthermore, Mr. Nissan never produced a SR24DET. ...are you feeling feverish?
