You shouldnt need any of the hydrolics parts cause 4g trannies are cable. I didn't think there is any difference in the starter from auto and manual but I dont know for sure about that. You also might need a manual ECU but I dont know if that matters or not.

Well I just did this swap this past weekend. I had bought another civic that was stick to do the swap from so it was a lil easier but you got pretty much everything. You don't the the maula axles or ecu or starter. All are the same. You however will have to bypass the sensor that only lets your car start in park and neutral. Also the sensor that doesn't let your key come out unless your car is in park. Its not hard to do at all if you have that helms manual. Heres a list of stuff that you need.
5 speed tranny-clutch flywheel and all that good stuff... Shifter, shifte linkage, shift rods clutch cable pedal assembly w/ clutch pedal (hardest thing to switch) three mounts that go to tranny (need to be manual) as well as the bolts and what not...im not sure if the auto ones match up. There you go...let me know if you have any questions. |

thanks hotasshonda...i just need to buy the parts, i don't have the mechanical know-how to do something this extreme. I'll probably just sit back and watch while i have someone else do it.

1 more question...does it matter what trim level i get the parts from? I'd think it wouldn't matter, but wanna make sure...BTW i'm going to be putting a DX tranny onto an EX engine

I don't think that it should matter as long as it is a D-series trans. If I were you I would try to find a EX tranny but the DX is fine as long at it is a D-series.

The trim level doesn't matter when it comes to the tranny fitting, but EX/Si transmissions are geared for better acceleration and the DX/LX 5 speed and Std 4 speed are geared for better gas mileage....If you want more get up and go use an EX/Si tranny.

i'm getting the tranny for 50 bucks and this car is not going to be modded extensively for a couple of years and it's my daily so i'm just going to get the dx tranny and get better mileage
Thanks for all the help you guys
