Maisto XJ220 with working rearlights!!

Hi,
I just wanted to know what you think about this modified XJ220. I made it have real working rear lights. I'm still figuring out how to do the headlights...(some suggestions?). Here's a pic, just ask for more if you like.

Thumbs up

Very cool! I just wnat to know how you did it! Is it battery powered? I'd love to see some photos of how i'ts stuck in there. I imagine the headlights are impossible unless you want to cut the diecast apart.

So, I tried to make a plan to do the headlights. To make this construction, I'll need the following things: 2 Little electromotors, about 1 cm long. 4 small white LED's, 2 mm. My plan is to make the headlightcovers glide trough little trenches. I don't think this is gonaa work... so please come with any more suggestions on this.

oh, well I'm afraid I cannot make any pics of that, you can't see it from the outside. I can tell you the battery is in the front of the car. In the back I just put 2 LED's.

It's a 1/18 one. It's about the cheapest model i have, I didn't take an expensiver one. Because when I waste it up, it's not a dissaster.

That is a very nice car and the brakelights add a cool affect. When you get the headlights done it will be gorgeous.

Just seen the topic of this thread and i knew i had to see what was going on. That is sure great. I doubt it was all that hard of a job rigging up the tail lights and headlights. You going to have a dome light in the car? J/K

Those smooth tailights got me thinking and I might try and work on my hotwheels 360 spider. It's goet easy access to the taillights and I might be able to change the headlights too...

I've been looking at the model again. I saw the trunk was fixed onto the headlights. So if I cut them out the trunk will go with them. I decided to make foglights. Im still looking for those tiny little lights. I don't want them to be very expensive. I need very cheap ones.

Heh, yes. F355 RULEZZ!!! I've been visiting a local model(train)shop. I was looking for those tiny little lights which are in modeltrains. I found them, but I don't know how to install them. They seem to have only one wire on them.
