B16a2 error codes.
Hi All,
We have just transplanted a B16a2 engine into a Civic EG hatch using a P30 ecu. Car is obd1 as stock. Engine works fine, except the CEL is coding 10 and 41. Does anyone know how I can fix the code 10 intake temp sensor? I need to know where this sensor should be on a B16a2, it's not on the intake manifold as it is on some B16's My car came with a one wire o2 sensor, I know the B16a needs a four wire sensor, does anyone know how I can resolve a code 41, or do I need to wire in a four wire sensor (if so, where do the four wires go??) Thanks all!!!! |

if i remember correctly, the b16a2 is OBDII. this means that the ecu is looking for sensors that you dont have installed. you need to get a kit that will essentially make the ecu act OBDI to resolve the problems. there are sites around here somewhere that sell those kits, just do a search for them, or maybe someone will post them for you.

The P30 ecu is obd1, and you're right the B16a2 doesn't have an air intake temp sensor. Anyone know how we can make the ecu believe it has? Maybe earthing out the pin??

it should also be missing the second O2 sensor that belongs around the cat, i think thats the code 41. do a search on a kit that converts from OBDII to OBDI.

The P30 ecu is obd1 so we don't need a converter.
The o2 sensor just needs a four wire sensor fitted. I need to know if there's a way to make the ecu believe we already have the IAT sensor. |
