Zonda News

After hearing a few of you carp about the lack of a Zonda model I decided to find out for myself what was going on.

What I wrote:

Hello,

I am a diecast car collector in the States inquiring as to whether there
are any plans to license the Pagani Zonda to any diecast car makers. If so
please let me know at your convience

Thank you

What I got back:

We are in the process now, I hope to have some news in June, please rewrite!!

Sure it's a ways off but at least it's nice to know what's going on. And no I don't need any responses to tell me I can't write letters....

:stormzap:

Check out the goods at: Pagani Site

That's great news!!!

I saw one up close a few years ago at the Ferrari Challenge in Connecticut, I wanted a 1/18 version ever since.

You saw a Zonda up close and didn't take a picture. I'm so jealous.

Yes, I did take a couple photos.

I was walking through the garage area and it came up behind me, I couldn't believe how quite it was. He had to beep the horn to let me know that he was there. When I turned around my jaw dropped, I didn't know what it was. After the owner parked it under the tent, I went over to ask him what kind of car it was. That was my first and only experience with the Pagani Zonda and I'll never forget it!

Photos were taken at the Ferrari Challenge in Conneticut - July of 2000

Can't wait to by the Zonda model. Amazing that they actually responded back to you. What I'm curious about though is how a Zonda ended up in Conneticut. From what I've read in various magazines is that the Zonda had not yet been considered to be shipped to the U.S., and was not U.S. street legal. I guess it has to be registered some how though with the Conneticut licence plate. Anyone know?

I think it had New Jersey plates on it, I don't remember exactly. I'll have to look my photo closer. It's clearer than the scanned image.

Pretty much all exotics have to be modified before they can enter the states. It can take some time. It's much better to buy the cars from a dealership rather than wait for the goverment to work on them so you don't have to wait a year and a half for your lambo

The Zonda would be a definite collector's piece if it is truly made.

As long as we don't get a 1:20th scale revell diecast for $170....

I think Pagani should license to Hotwheels, Maisto, and Autoart for those with too much money on their hands. I'll buy all three...:frog:

For those of you who live near Sebring I can already announce to you that Carsport America will participate the Sebring 12 hours with a Pagani Zonda. Drivers will be Belgian Anthony Kumpen and Dutchman Mike Hezemans. On march 1st there is a press presentation of the racecar in Belgium (where I live) and I will makes tons of pics. Later on this year I will come to the States to cover the Road Atlanta race...

Agreed! A car as beautiful and as exclusive as a Zonda should let Exoto do its models! I don't care if it cost 150bucks - it deserves no less!
