Intake Size

I've been reading post on other boards where people are saying that a 3" intake piping is too big and that 2.5" is much better. I myself don't see there being much of a difference ? Anyone really know ?

Yeah i don't see the 1/2 giving you much more torque or power...if it does it's so small of a figure that it dosen't really matter. I always worried about CAI and sucking up rain on my past cars and they never did, I'm in a debate of what to get now. A CAI or just like a CRX style intake that sits by the headlight.

Well this is what i'm gonna get. U heard that comptech ice cold air box? I heard nothing but good stuff about those. They look like stock air box. They only make it for si's and type r i think but it'll fit our cars if we relocate the battery to the back.

my intake was sucking in a little water. jer got the great idea of modifing a stock airbox to fit over my intake and reactive filter. you can take the heat shield off the filter....the filter it's self is thin and slinder. it fits in the airbox.

it ended up making the car feel more torquey

travis_118 has CAI on his ZC. holy manoly, that thing is loud. especially when he opens the car up. i don't know if he tested it anymore....but he was saying for some reason he took it off and the car felt like it gained torque. i just can't remember if he put a short intake on or the airbox

Very creative ami! Yeh i have cia in my ride now. I've experiance both short ram and cold air. Anyways i felt the difference on cold air through top end cause it takes the air longer time to travel to ur intake manifold. Thats the only difference i felt?

Seeing how my unlce does exhaust work and has a pipe bender i think that i will just make my own. Now all i need to find is a 2.5" filter. That maybe kinda hard to do, i looked on Ebay and all i found were 3" filter
