Rubbing???

Hey i just put on 18" wheels and 225/40's on my G. And it only rubbs when i turn my steering wheel all the way to the right (rubbs front left tire only, and rubbs with inside plastic in wheel well). Anyway everyone's telling me to switch to 35s but I dont want to risk bending a rim. My question is: I'm going to lower my car soon and im looking at H&R springs, does anyone have this set up and can tell me if it will rubb even more??? If so what can i do to prevent this??:bandit:

Don't know if your car has them but on the P10 I have adjustable stops on the lower suspension arm that limits the wheel lock. For now, maybe you could adjust those (if you have them) to stop the wheel from turning so far. Although you'll have to live with a larger turning circle, this may be preferable to damaging wheels, tyres, guards or whatever.

As for lowering with 18" rims, this has been discussed before, so do a search in this forum and you'll probably find what you're looking for. From what I've seen, offset is the most critical thing when you want to go with 18"s.

You would not want anything more then 42mm offset on a P11.
That's what i have on mine and have no problems with rub.

Your tires are wider then mine which may make a difference...i'm using 215/45/18
