its a good motor for a starter car, i still have my D15B2, 92 or 93 horses its decent and a fun motor for a lil while. u can beat old Jettas with it hehe
but its not really too worth it to try and make it into a high performance engine, if u wanna keep it stock then go ahead and freshen it up and rebuild it... if u have the money, do a swap

you can build up internals and boost quite high, the compression is only 8.9, which is good for turbos heh, plus mpfi of course

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish...If you build the D15b2 right, I'm sure it'll pull good numbers for you, but the only drawback, you're already maxed out at maybe 175 hp (all motor) and the B16 is just getting started.

I think you could do alot with it. It might take some time and some effort but you can pull it off with the right gear if you know what i mean, almost any car can have potential if you give it some if you know what i mean. I think its worth fixing up, buying the b16 would make it faster but it wuld cost so much money to swap engines.

build it
You can easily make it into an Si. Get an Si injection, and head, possibly a tranny, and you will be running a couple of tenths faster than the Si's stock, and your car will weigh less. If you do that stuff, you should build on to the motor from there, and it would be pretty fast, but like everyone else is sayign a b16 is a good engine for the car, so if you have the money get the swap. But you can get those parts from a junkyard or somewhere for pretty cheap(Si parts that is).

I was reading something on Honda-Tech about D15B2s. They are actually an amazing engine when you know what you are doing. They have a near perfect r/s ratio. With certain pistons (I think 1G Integra ones or something) it gives it a nice compression ratio and good power boost. With MPFI it should be just as good if not better than a D16A6 if you put those parts inside it.
I was thinking of swapping engines B16A is a great engine but just too much work in my opinion. I like things that bolt right up so when I do a swap I'm going ZC and probably boost it eventually.
