Mods On Crx

Sup, I am new to this site and i wanted to konw what people think i should do to my car. I have a 1988 CRX HF, its not all stock, the tranny is an aftermarket one and it actually makes the car faster, so i am guessing it runs a mid 17's. I wanted to know what yall think i should do to it. I am getting a custom 2 1/4 inch pipe ran for my exhaust. Please tell me what you think i should do my ride. Thanx.

The HF motor really doesn't have much potential unless you got some serious money. I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else. You need an engine swap, of course which engine to get is another issue.

No it really has no potential. Just because it's reliable doesn't mean its fast. It has 60hp so yeah not too much stress is going to be on that engine. Swap in a ZC, it's a direct drop in.

Yea, i'd suggest to you would put ANY other d series motor and it will be better than the HF motor, because your HF motor is actually at the bottom of the list of ALL D series motors...... i think you should either drop a ZC in there or a d16y8.... both d series motors and good potential, and litterally 2x the power you are putting out NOW!

the intake from an HF has the smae wiring as far as injectors go. the difference between the HF MPFI manifold and the Si one, is size. the HF manifold is literally 1/3 as big.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, aftermarket tranny ? Do you mean that you got a new one from the junkyard and maybe you got lucky and got a Si tranny ? As far as that motor having potiental, it dosen't, don't waste your time or money on that 8 vavle paper weight. Drop a D16a6 in ATLEAST or a ZC (which i'm not a big fan of but hey) and if you want to get all sorts of crazy go for a B series, and those motors all have potiental. If you still think that your HF motor has potiental than you go and mod it and go and play with a Si with a few little mods and see your potiental that you thought was once there slip away.

just get a B16A swap w/ tranny it's around 2000-2500 bucks for everything then spray a lil 55 shot until you get some more money for strengthing the block. if you know people you could probably get a nitrous kit for like 100-200 bucks. i got mine for 100. after i paint my car i'm goin to start savin for a b16a. my friend ran 7.85 1/8 mile which is high 12 sec 1/4 mile w/ a pretty much stock b16 w/ a 125 shot. of corse he lost compression in the #4 cylinder but 8 grand and fully built b16 later he sprayin a 225 shot . don't know what he'sgonna run yet cause he's still breakin the motor in. i'll keep ya'll updated in what he runs.
