lookin to buy
well, i finally got tired of my honda and was thinkin about maybe a s-10, but im not one to buy a car (or truck) and be happy with the stock appearance. I like the look of the zr2, but they are so rare to find. heres my question, how hard would it be to lift the suspension on an s-10, and how expensive, i also like the look of how the wheels on the zr2 are spaced out to give that wider stance, how is that done?

I'm not an authority, but I read that you can buy suspension kits through chevrolet.
What I read wasn't clear to me if it was a kit for a 2 or 4wd. the wide stance was part of the zr2 package but you could do that with an offset wheel. |

its not too hard. a decent tool set and good set of instructions are what you need. we put a 3" lift on a 2WD and slapped on a set of 31*10.50's.
it actually sat a half an inch taller than the zr2. |

S-10 Lift kits are very expensive for 4x4s - $600 for 2inches and $1600 for 5inches. Don't even try putting one of these on if it's your first lift. the 2 inch kit will let you run 31 inch tires and the 5 will allow 33inch tires

Quote:
There is much more to a ZR2 than just a 3" lift. Let alone a body lift. The actual axles are 3.96" wider than a stock 4x4 even. Along with the lowered perch mount for the springs to give it the extra 3" suspension lift in the rear. Then it has the enhanced 7.25 front end and torsion bars cranked up. It was taller than the ZR2 because the ZR2 had settled in.
