When To Use Nos

depends on what gear and at what rpm

someppl have told me that u should use it in top gear bout 3k rpm how much of a shot do u use?

that's probably the best time considering that's about when cam-phasing takes place. right before optimal power and becuase redlines not very high.

hey,u re safe using nitro any time after 3000 rpm starting from 2nd gear, dave btw what nitro kit is it and what did u have to do as far as fuel system and afc and all that crap

i got the kit from a local holly shop about 3 months ago kit#05124nos dry manifold .03 nos jet.when they installed it they connected my afr, fuel pressure,and boost preasure gauges,as far the timing goes JWT had my ECU maximied for nos use,from what i understand when i activate my nos the ECU goes back to stock setting or is droped a litte to compensate for the nos.as far as fuel system goes i have a upgraded fuel pump(a venon i beleave)not to sure the shop put one in for me

well the nos kit i payed 470.00 it was on special,about 250.00 for all my gauges,dual pod and my custom fabricated dual gauge,nos activator swich panel(in the second din for radio)nos installation was like 350.00 bucks but they installed and connected all of the above,as for fuel pump am not to sure as it was replaced about a month ago when i added my ss brake lines,oil change,colded spark plugs,and a few other things it all cost me about 580.00 and thats including installs but the total so far would be about 1600.00

If you can, you want to use the NOS in third gear. Shift out of second kind of early and floor third. If you're an auto, you want it in high second.

yeah i used it 2 more times and have found if i wait till i reach about 70 i'am able to get the boost to 100 much more quickly but thanks for all ya'll help

dave, did u get the computerized kit or u jus get the one u push the buttom and it shoots a shot of nitrous in?

yeah i heard of the kits you just activate and it kick in on its on,but no i got to activate it by fliping a switch and then press the button(which in my case sucks because its not mounted on the steeringwheel)

by the way this is my first nos experance and all i got to say it wow(nos is awesome)and just to think i used to hate people with nos(to me its not true power)i still don't really like nos but its coming in handy you guys should try it its worth the money
