Nascart, drifting style!

Anyone that lives here in Utah might have heard of Nascart. It is go cart racing. They go decently fast at about 40MPH.

Well, Neutrino some other friends and I decided to go. There were five of us. We started out and after about seven laps Neutrino and I managed to pass everyone accept one of my friends. Neutrino was behind me the whole time until the end of the race when I got stuck behind a lapped car. I was going to make a move but Neutrino pulled on the outside and I hit the brakes. I should have kept going and sent him into the wall.

Like the title says, Neutrino and I decided it was more fun to drift than give it our all. It was a road course and on all of the hairpins we were drifting them around the turns, sometimes bogging the motor.

Holy crap that was a kick, closest thing to track racing I can get, for now. Neutrino and I were by far the best of out group. Imagine if we were actually trying to race and not drift.

40 mph is nothing, The go-karts i raced could reach speeds of 100mph. After i dominated that im now in the Race Car. Those Nascart are probably a good start though polygon. They sure are fun.

scott, what kind of a kart did you race? I just bought a 125cc shifter...a 99 CRG with a blueprinted TM engine. I'll be driving it for the first time Saturday. The previous owner was clocked at 130mph on the banking at Daytona (and this was on the rolex layout, not the tri-oval!)

I know...I never let anything slow me down. I know what you ment by the way.....I used to race both. I race the 125cc a couple of times in tracks around ohio. I mostly raced dirt though. In the Stock Light & Medium classes.

Hey, hey, this was a road course, and a small one at that. You would kill yourself at those speeds. We were only able to get to about 30MPH on average.

The oval is a different story. I have driven faster ones; it has just been a while since I have. Besides, this was close racing on a road course, not some boring ass oval.
