Spraybooth how-to?

I live in a country where it rains 10 out of the 12 months and I do almost all my spraying outdoors (especially when I use cans). That's why I want to build me a nice (yet cheap) spraybooth. I think I have an ideal spot for that in my hobby room. The desk where I would put the booth on is under a 'velux'window (that's actually a window in the roof that opens horizontally by rotating around the middle).

Now I need a guide or some advice on the booth itself (I've looked all over google but all I get are 1:1 car spray booths or things that are too damn expensive to build).

If someone knows how to build such a booth so that all the dust/air/paint is sucked out through that window, plz post your ideas here.

935k3 has a booth similar to what I had in mind

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a vented hood for a cooking range/stove, they have a built in light and 200-300 cfm sealed electric motor and are cheap, around $25. They don't weigh much so it's easy to mount.

That would indeed be the best solution but the problem is that my mother isn't too fond of the idea (and since it still isn't my house it will need some time to convince here).

I was cruzing through the HLJ web page (again) today and I saw 2 diffrent spray boths for around US $100.00, I think that is a good price to pay.

1 is fron Tamiya, and the other is Mr Spray both (I forget how to spell the name......):toothless

Well if your mom doesn't like that idea, I don't know how well she migth like any other spray booth ideas. When I was planning a spray booth, I looked all over www.grainger.com for blowers and exhaust fans, the cheapest-but-effective options would be at least $60-70. Since it's going to be in your room and since it's for spray paints, you don't want to skimp on the CFM because you're talking about your own safety here.

Problem solved I can do the spray painting in the garage and I can install a booth there.
Thx for the 'vented hood' idea, that's ideal.

I've made my own booth out of range hood/wood, with the hood sitting over a closed area. It works pretty good but you'll need to run big ducting on the cheatp range hoods, usually 7inch+ cause the air will spit back into your face if you don't..

After all the trouble i went through, i think i should have just bought the booth that 935k has, or the Tamiya booth or Gunze Booth.
