thing coming off the intake?!?

Hey....

Was looking at my friend's mirage's engine compartment...and now I'm really confused. What in the world is that little resevoir thing coming off the intake piping right before the TB?

Anyone that can help...thanks.

It's just a box that captures air and holds it... just one more thing to restrict air. I imagine it was put in to quiet the air being sucked in.

If it's a "boxy thing", it's like afore mentioned and may even be a "MAS", if you're talking about the hose to the valve cover it's to suck highly presurized "hot air" , from valves in a "cooling manor", but either way it impeeds horsepower all the same .
