Front Door Speakers
Can I put 5 1/4's in the doors of a 97 z24? without buying god damn kickpanel things, someone let me know...... . Cavz24, BTW They are alpine type are 5 1/4's that i want to replace them with, i can cut or do whatever i have to, just need to know if it is doable so i can order them

according to crutchfield (they have a nice way to tell you the factory speaker size) your car came with 4x6 in the front doors and 6x9 in the rear deck. So, if one is made, you would need an adapter to be able to use the 5.25" in your door

dude, kick pods go in the kick panel - not in the doors. If you are pretty good with tools, you should be able to make a 5 1/4" fit in that 4X6 slot. You might have to make a trim ring to cover the remaining part of the hole and make it look good.

talk to your local car audio dealer (one that does installs) There are kits that you can get to do just that. You could also make a fiberglass molding to mount the speakers in. I am gettin some 5 1/4's installed in a couple weeks in my 96 cav coupe.
