Unhappy ruff noise

My 92' Bonneville makes a zooming noise from the engine compartment. It sounds like it's coming from the transmission. It sounds like it's forcing itself. The noise goes away when I turn the steering wheel to the right, but as soon as I turn it back it continues to make the noise. Can anyone please help
