RS tunability?
Hey yall I am shoping for a sports car I was considering the Impereza RS (I cannot afford a WRX yet) But I am unsure of how well the engine and tranny can hold up to mild-mid range boost? Do yall have some info that would help?

well with 6psi(recomended stock psi) u get about 240hp at the wheel. since its a 2.5 u get more power with little psi. With pistons, exhaust, header you should be able to get to 10-12 psi which will take u over 300hp. You can put any internal pices (i.e Pistons) from 99'+ 2.5rs because its the same engine. its hard to find parts for an 02'-03' 2.5...99'-01' parts will work on a 02'+ car, just a different body style.
www.spomotorsports.com has a nice kit http://ludespeed.com/products/subaru/impreza.html this is for ludespeed, which i think is basiclly the same as the SPO kit for a little less $$

i'm the process of building my own kit. a few internal goodies, etc. the goal is 10-12 psi on a t04 60-1 turbo and around a 50 shot of nitrous. i'll let you know what happens :hehehe:
oh yeah, mine will cost about the same as the ludespeed stage 2, but make more power than their stage 3... off the nitrous. |
