what does obd stand for?

I need to know what obd mean and what is a cable tranny i have a 88 crx dx and im swaping a b16a do i need a set up for the cable tranny or hydrolic tranny.

On Board Diagnostics

yoru crx is a cable tranny stock so you will need a cable tranny when you do yoru b16a swap

obd

Alright odb means on board diagnostics thank you, BUt i still dont know what it is is it like a contorl box, what is the physical thing and what does it do? If i get a b16a swap i get everything with no obd right i got a 88 crx dx thank you

non obd have less restrictions then obd1 and obd2. U can still put a obd1 or obd2 motor in ur rex but u gonna convert it.

the obd refers to the ecu, and what sensors and programs it runs, how its wired and ect...
