Unhappy enginr knoking

hey need a bit of help
when i slow down quickly my engine makes a knoking sound, i thought it was the engine mount cause 1 was broken. so i replaced it and well it still makes it, it could be one of the other ones, i havent checked the gear box one yet but any ideas and thoughts would be wicked.

the only reason i know that a engine will knock is because of a spun rod bearing(done it). It comes from over reving your engine and causing oil to not lubricate the bearing fast enough and it will spinn inside of the rod

It doesnt have to just be a spun bearing. Maybe the bearing is worn, or possible the rod endcap needs to be re torqued. Regardless, chances are it has something to do with a bearing. Which either means pay some money to get it fixed, or time to replace the motor.

It'd help to know what sort of car it is

Often when you break an engine mount you'll find the other mount is damaged or stretched, maybe the g'box mount. Perhaps it's as simple as the exhaust pipe hitting the floor under over-run .. or as bad as a broken gearbox component? If FWD, you might have rooted a CV joint. It's very hard to diagnose errant noises through the internet and thus easy to send you on an (expensive) wild goose chase, but quite basic for experienced people to accurately do so during a simple test-drive

If worried, why not invest $20 or so for a diagnosis from a trusted mechanic .. or even a car-savvy friend?
