Swapping prelude engine to accord

I'm thinking about doing an engine swap from a 94-95 prelude to my 90 accord. I was gonna try to find a crashed prelude in a junkyard or something. Is this not even worth it for me to waste my time, or is it? Also, how much do you think it would cost me from a junkyard, if i could find one? cuz im wanting a really big power boost, but im kinda on a low budget. If anybody has any other suggestions, i would greatly appreciate it.

what do you mean by low budget? installation alone could cost a grand. and any usdm motor from the early 90's will most likey have a ton of mileage, unless you can find a '95 car that crashed within the first couple years. i'd say deal with being slow for now, save up, and do it right... jdm.

its gonna be tough to find a motor worth buying from a junk yard. the ones u do will have TONS of miles, an prolly won't be complete. i'd agree w/ stroda, an say get urself some money an jus go the more expensive, but more reliable way...jdm of course

correct. they are motors that are taken out of japanese cars because of mileage/smog regulations.

If your serious, you may as well not hold your breath on the junkyard deal, thats like waiting for it to snow in Hawaii.. It is rare, most people that run junkyards know what they are getting when they get a totaled Prelude. When I did my swap I searched junkyards through the entire state of NC and I found 2, one was incomplete and the other they wanted 4500 for it.. Now thats NC, I know there are two shops in the state that all they do is track engines in the junk yards and go buy them and mark em up. I went ahead and ordered one from Japan.. 2200 bones and 1200 to install it.. My advice, continue to save and be patient and do it right.

Worth it dog, when I had only intake and exaust, I got smoked by a 95 accord coupe w/ a prelude engine with intake (no exaust). That shit is no joke dog, The dude that raced me had his girl in the car by the way and I was by myself. He was stick and I'm auto. Keep in mind that I was 190 hp stock V6. Id say go for it homeboy!!!!

yes he should get the swap, but he should wait and get a jdm motor.
btw, i noticed that you have a maxima. im not sure if it was a v6 but i beat a newer maxima before, we raced from my school, including going up a hill and he could barely keep up... and i dont have shit. you probably would have beat the accord, but im assuming youre probably heavier.

What engine do you have because anything can happen in street racing and if your talkng stock vs stock then thats BS, I'm running forced induction now w/ y-pipe, exaust and intake so theres no way that would happen again anyway. Yes,BTW all Maximas are v6, the only reason why he beaT me was because he was stick and I wasn't. I raced a 90 to 93 w/ an engine swap and we ran about 6 times and I kicked his ass everytime. It was probably the driver because I know those weigh less than the 94 to 97, but I wouldn't sit here and say I got beat by a 95 if I smoked an earlier version. Don't say he could hardly keep up because you know you put extras on that story, I mean keep it real dog, I'm man enough to say that I got beat by an accord. Yes I got beat by like 1 car, so what, things happen in street racing but don;t say that that Max could hardly keep up, because you know your puttin Xtras. You've probably never raced a Maxima before, and you say you don;'t have shit. TRUST Me, he wasn't racing you!!!! I'm not saying my shit is all that but I don't appreciate you insulting my intelligence. I've raced the 2 door v6 accord coupes when I only had intake and exaust and they posed no threat. And my max only weighs 3000lbs, not that heavy. Once again he was 5 speed w/ ANOTHER engine and I was Auto with my STOCK engine(Naturally aspired).. Oh keep in mind I'm not arguing with you but you know you put dimes on that BS. Arguing over the internet is like the special olympics, nomatter who wins, your still retarded... So I'm not talking $hit.

I'm not looking you up because I don't know who the hell you are, I'll never be in that part of town so forget it, BTW who the hell are you, I wasn't talking to you. Theres no way an accord w/ just h22 swap will beat me now, I got my shit together after that one pulled on me that night, and it wasn't by the much. All it took was for me to get a Y-pipe which adds about 20 hp to my $hit, please do your homework before talkin Ish. Seriously, look up the specs on a supercharged or turboed max and then talk to me, whoever the hell you are

Check out Motor Trend Road test june 1994, I shit you not, I ain't making this shit up for my health, once again I ain' t saying my $hit is all that but this is QUOTED and I OWN ONE

Motor Trend, Road Test, June 1994
"Our tester, a five-speed SE version of this fourth generation of Maxima, produced a blazing 6.6-second 0-60-mph time, and a 15.2-second, 92.4-mph quarter-mile run. Ask us,
and we'll tell you how the Maxima SE will whip the Integra GS-R, and Taurus SHO;
the new Maxima also shows no mercy on its Nissan stablemates: It'll stomp the normally aspirated 300ZX, and drivers of automatic-transmissioned 300ZX Turbos best not be snoozing when the light goes green.
This demure-looking family car is the quickest Japanese sedan available in the States."

This is not including INTAKE, EXAUST, Y-pipe, and Forced Induction, which I have now!!!

Y pipe adds 20hp? mmm show me the dyno sheet..

As far as Motor Trend running a 15.2

That is pathetic.. Can you run 13's? Naturally aspirated? Oh wait you have forced induction, mmm I guess that compramises your naturally aspiration.. Doesnt it?

Get your shit straight before you talk shit!
