Any RX-7 models with engines???

Are there any RX-7 models with engines? If not, is tamiya's RX-7 model any good, what's the next best one after tamiya?(quality wise)

What generation you are looking for?

For the first generation the only rx-7 with engine was a Monogram 1979 (I think) model. In the late ninties the model was reisued.

For the second generation Tamiya made a "hard top" and a targa with engine.

And for the third generation Tamiya made it with engine.

I build the second generation targa model and the engine is simplified but real looking.

I'm loking for the 3rd gen, my favorite RX-7. If the tamiya one has and engine, I'm getting one for sure. The pile of model cars in my room just seems to be getting higher and higher

I know Tamiya is the best, but if tamiya doesnt have an engine, then it's in the curbside class with all the other fujimi and aoshima cars, and maybe there are better ones than tamiyas, MAYBE.

i doubt theres anyone better than Tamiya, even in the curbside class kit Tamiya will still be better. almost zero mold lines to deal with unlike Fujimi:finger:.

A bit of modeling and you can get fujimi kits perfect. My mazda FD3S is neat so far, i have no problems with it. Well interior alignment is the only issue. But dont forget fujimi and tamiya make different kits. Fujimi is still not bad i think.

yes it does, but the oil pan, turbo, exhaust header, transmission, and drive shaft are all molded into the undercarriage of the car... the "block" (if you can call it that on a rotary), intake, accessories, and belts are all seperate pieces.

kinda annoying when you buy a kit that lists "full engine detail" in the highlights, and then find out that the engine detail is NOT a completely seperate set of pieces... arghhh
