ZC smog question ...

Okay so i took my car in on tuesday for a smogging and i would have asked earlier but i had school and work to deal with ...

So i failed on my Idle portion cause i was burning to much oxygen. I was so pissed i didnt realy listen to the guy but i remember hearing something like 'your running to lien' and something about hydrocarbons. It was only in my idle settings which made me REALLY pissed. Anyways, a friend of mine said there was some treatment i could throw in my engine and it would for sure pass smog. Im not really trusting on that kinda promise so im wondering if theres anything i can do to make it pass without having them work on my car. Ive had it in the shop enough as it is. Yea thats it for me this time ... thanks in advance.

yea so i took it back and they did a diagnostic ... and boy do i pick the winners.

My intake manifold was cracked allowing to much air into my fuel mix and my right brake booster was shot to hell which didnt help matters in the least.

damn this cheap car is turning out to be more exspensive then i though.

wont work in your case, but a little trick on passing emissions is to put alcohol in the tank, its burned cleaner and you will pass.

I wouldn't recommend any alcohol, but a couple bottles of Heet. That works pretty well. Also, if you need an intake manifold, I can get you one pretty cheap.
