Question Weight of bumper?? (entire assembly)

Yo!

Anyone out there know how much a bumper weighs? I am trying to figure out shipping charges to get a rear bumper for my sedan shipped to me.

I guessed 50 lbs. - this would include the entire assembly...cover, reinforcment, foam, and connecting struts to the frame...
Any better guesses? Anyone know? all you peeps that have pulled your bumpers off a million times oughta be able to shed some light

What about size? How big a box do you need?? do they make boxes that freaking big?? - lol

i'm thinkin around the 25 - 30 pound range, the front bumper of my car was around this and i think the fronts bigger, when i took the old one off it was like 10 pounds cuz it was rotted and 1/2 gone. lol. but the new one i got was like 25-30 pounds, its mainly in the bumper support. the bumpers just plastic and weights like 3 pounds. so i'm guessing the 25- 30 pound range. and since its the back, its smaller too so maybe a lil less

Is there a difference between canadian lbs. and US lbs. ?
haha - sorry..I had to..it is fun..
Anyway - thanks - I also need info on the front...cuz if I get an EX bumper for my rear-end, I'll want an EX bumper for the front too...I don't want any mismatched painted and non-painted shit looking all ghetto.

I have a sedan, so the EX bumpers will fit just fine ...down here in the states, the DX sedan has black plastic bumpers, and the LX and EX sedan's have painted bumpers. Fortunately for me, I have seen DX, LX & EX sedans in my color - the dark grey (charcoal) color, so if I can find them, they should be a direct bolt-on for me. They are too long (about 5" in the front) and WAY too long, 8+" in the rear for a hatchie.

oh alright! didnt know you had a sedan.... but wait... i'm confused i took the front bumper off a sedan LX or EX cuz it was a painted bumper and put it on my hatch and it fit perfectly... i think i'm gonna go back to the j/y and double check but i'm almost positive it was a sedan i got it from...

I know the bumper cover is 7lbs, and the bar is 14lbs, I think.

That's cool...lighter is better...When I guessed 50 lbs. shipping was about $30 - but then when I guessed 75lbs, it doubled

Damned if I know! lol, never shipped ne thing b4. my guess whould be a big box with newspaper on the sharp edges so it doesnt go through the box, mark it fragile (cuz the plastic might crack if its dropped) tape it up and let UPS deal with it haha
