I've never liked those kinds of cars, I'm sure they'd be fun to drive though.

no... it's not a clone, it's a 1967 series 3 lotus seven, 1600cc pushrod engine, left hand drive, set up for FIA spec vintage racing. faster than the elise race car from the west coast distributor who showed up at the last race.

Interesting looking ride. Looks like it would be fun to cruise around in.

It's not made for cruising, it's made for racing

it might be kinda illegal to cruise with..seeing that it has very close to slicks for tires...

Hmmmm....
I'll up you about 150 hp but about another 200 kgs wet including driver, full roll cage including side intrusion bars, intercooler and fuel cell ont he Caterham.
There's a version here that's got a Toyota 3SGTE 2.0 litre turbo that's been clocked with a Correvit by a local mag with 0-100kph time of 3.7 seconds and 100-0 time of 2.9 - so under 7 seconds for 0-100-0 (on road legal tyres). It's a serious piece of kit but more lately it's a race car although it could be made essential road legal given some time and some minor work. It also has the capability for launch control and operates with data logging and programmable engine management. Oh and since the test it's got more power, a bigger hairdryer and runs on slicks... |

Then there is the Donkervoort, made in the Netherlands. It uses the VAG 1.8T, available in factory trim from 150-225hp, and can surpass 400hp without much difficulty.
