how to remove struts

i ddi this on my 93 civic h/b dx so....

the front are nice and easy------and the backs are even easier, except i know that many many people including me have had frozen bolts in the back----now thats a bitch--if u snap it or cant get it out, youll have to buy new bushings and have the old ones pressed out and the new ones pressed in---then its off to the dealer for the special bolts---$11 and change each!!! what a rip off----but yeah, im sure someone here knows what im talking about

i didnt have any problem getting the struts in no bolt freeze or anything, i had a problem with installing the skunk2 camber that was a pain in the ass, and for some reason going over a mean speed bump gives me a grinding noise from the front have an ideas? (btw everything torqued down to haynes spec ft lbs)

I am having this problem what can i do to take them out? if they break what do i have to change? what bushing is it called and is it available in poly?

I got my front drop springs on easy but the rear those bolts are not comming out... is there away to take them off without taking them bolts out?

i just finished the suspension on my 96 integra. Yep, same prob with the rear bolts, this happened on my civic as well. you might laugh but this is how i fixed it. started off by breaking the head of the bolt off(accidentally). i then took out the whole strut/spring assembly(including the lower control arm). we then cut the bottom of the strut off since i was putting on new ones. we cut it on each side where it goes into a Y shape. then we unthreaded the remainder of the strut off the bolt where the nut is welded to the strut. then use a vice or something to support the strut and give the bolt hell with a hammer. the bolt will eventually come out if you hit it hard enough. hit the threaded side. i had abother bolt which youll need. then just put it all back togeher. and lower the car as you would have. its a pain in the ass but this way you dont have to pay to have the bushings pushed. its not that hard, ive done it twice, but youll get it, by the way, the car looks awsome and rides great.

Yep same thing happened to mine. I broke the head off the first one.. drove on it like that for a couple days. I drilled it out and got it separated from the strut and couldn't to save my ass pound the thing out. then I took the whole thing out of the other side, control arm & all. took both to my friend's shop and cut the strut off the one. then put em on a drill press and then on the press press and pressed the hollowed out bolts. now I got some Advance Auto Parts bolts in there, I should probably take em out and put some antisieze on there.

ha, same shit happened to me, should have known this would happen since honda sells a "repair kit" to replace the bolts. I paid about $10 per bolt, but had to get new bushings cause mine were completely rust welded inside the bushing sleeve. Took the arms and bushings to a garage and they let me press them in for no charge, kinda lucky there. Oh and the bushings were about $25 a piece.

cant get the bolts anywhere else other then the dealer?...anybody know where i can get the complete kit online?..just bushings and bolts i also have that freaking frozen lower control arm crap
