all 3-series handle more or less the same, excluding sport packs. Otherwise all sport models handle the best, so a 330ci sport is about as good as it gets. E36 was more sporty and edgy than the E46, which is more controlled.

all new 3 series handle nicely and are becoming more and more sporty.
Can't wait for the 4 series

4-series is what the next 3 series coupe will be called

lowrider, im gonna have to correct you, E36 is more sporty than E46 with respect to handling characteristics

dude, the 3-series isnt dying. Theyre just gonna call the 3-series coupe 4-series. the 3-series will be the sedan, 4-series coupe and convertible. although i hope they dont call the new M3 "M4". Now that would suck

:huh: That's ironic.

BMW say they're commited to lower emmision, smaller displacement engines going to high revs to make their power; yet with cars like the M3-GTR and the constant increase in displacement of their cars, they seem to stray away from the original philosophy...

Any thoughts on this?

Exactly. The M3GTR is hardly representative of BMW's general product. Besides, all manufacturers come out with these statements because its bad PR not to. Thats not to say BMW arent doing their bit.. if you look at car emissions today compared to 10-20 years ago the difference is astounding.
