rick, would you mind if i came to your house and raided these boxes for a while?? haha just kidding dude.

anyways, yeah i have a part's box. i keep any extra parts that come with kits (extra wings, side skirts, tires, rims, decals, etc.etc.), and also keep spare set of rims that i buy (or get sent to me ) in there so that they don't get lost/mixed up. i have another big box that's full of all of my supplies, all of my paint cans (need a rack), hand paints, hobby knives, styrene, alum tubing, sandpaper, other various tools...once my basement is cleaned up, i'm using my old computer desk as a modelling table and making racks for my paints and buying some shelving units/small tool chests to put all of my supplies in so that they always stay down there and don't get lost/damaged by being in a big box together.

I do.

a couple of complete chassis, seats, steering wheel, tyres, rims etc. some body parts like roofs etc, from convertibles. Every single part that is not used on a model will end up in the spare box. I don't throw these things away.

I have so much stuff in mine that I don't keep track much anymore! I look through sometimes to see if there's anything I need for a current project (too many to mention!) I keep pretty much everything from my kits except for what I send to people

I just started really getting into modeling and I had to buy an extra 99 svt cobra mustang just for the windows, but I ended up needing a little more so all the rest of the parts are in my spare parts box, and also parts from my JDM ITR since they gave me a lot of "swappable" pieces that I won't be using

Naturally whatever I don't use I save. My spare box is not very large, only because I don't build as much as I would like. First I put any extra parts into an appropriate size zip bag with the remaining decal facing out, then it goes into the box. I like to tag the bags just for reference. This way when I dig into the spares I know from what kit I'm borrowing, not that it makes any difference.

I save all scrap plastic, as well as any unused parts.
